Villa Lion View

Villa Lion View

Perched above Constantia with sweeping views of Cape Town, Villa Lion View is a boutique hotel that marked Marie-Louise’s return to interiors since her time in New York. Featured in House & Leisure, the project began with a request from the previous owners—who had discovered her through her artwork—to reimagine the existing guesthouse lobby and design the interiors for a new six-suite executive villa.

Inspired by the surrounding landscape, the interiors were designed to feel calm, understated, and connected to nature. A palette of natural stone, blackened timber, and warm local woods created a sense of effortless luxury. Expansive glass doors blur the boundary between inside and out, while each suite was anchored by a statement artwork from Marie-Louise’s Cape Town collection, including two custom pieces made for the space.

South African design takes centre stage, with handcrafted furniture and finishes by Bofred, James Mudge, Gregor Jenkin, and Wiid Design—resulting in interiors that feel considered, tactile, and deeply rooted in place.
